While the previous contract with BASF for a MEISSNER Dinitrotoluene plant at Yeosu plant site in South Korea still was under execution, MEISSNER already concluded the next contract with BASF for a DNT plant again based on leading MEISSNER technology.

A Linters plant supplied by MEISSNER via the company Unionmatex Industrieanlagen GmbH to the end-customer Chemical Factory for Furan Compounds, Association Uzchimprom, in Fergana/Uzbekistan, has been successfully commissioned. The plant currently produces all globally marketable types of alpha-cellulose independently of the locally available raw material quality.

A MEISSNER speciality is the adiabatic process for the production of Mononitrobenzene. The adiabatic process is characterized by most favourable consumption figures and extremely low by-product formation. This very advantageous process could be improved further by using a new tube-type reactor, which helps to reduce the formation of by-products to even lower limits.

A MEISSNER plant for the production of Nitrocellulose (raw material for lacquers, paints, and inks) was commissioned successfully and on schedule in 1999 for Nitro Química in São Paulo, Brazil.

For a plant complex of a renowned German company, MEISSNER as main contractor supplied a plant for the production of Dinitrotoluene (DNT) including the extension to an existing acid reconcentration plant. The DNT plant at a German production site has a capacity of 85,000 metric tons per year.

In 1999, an extension to an integrated plant complex for the production of Formaldehyde, Hexamethylenetetramine and Urea-Formaldehyde-Precondensate was commissioned successfully and on schedule.

Subsequent to the realization of the first plant section for the production of Formaldehyde and Hexamethylenetetramine by MEISSNER in 1997, the customer Heliopolis Co. for Chemical Industries in Heliopolis/Cairo decided to extend the plant complex by an additional MEISSNER plant for the production of Urea-Formaldehyde-Precondensate.
